The Fellowship Committee would like to invite the congregation to a St. James Potluck Lunch immediately following the congregational meeting July 14. Fried chicken, drinks and paper products will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Join us for Redneck “slip n slide” afterwards weather permitting!
FOOD DRIVE –The St James Mission and Outreach committee is sponsoring a “Food for Families” food drive for the month of June. The goal is to collect 500 lbs of food during the month of June for New Hope Ministries. While we are blessed to live in one of richest nations on the earth we know that “food insecurity” issues exist in our community for many folks. New Hope Ministries has been addressing these in ourcommunity through donations from many organizations. We can also help our neighbors in need by adding our donations to the New Hope shelves. Food can be left at any time in the large white collection box in the narthex. Cans, bottles, and boxes of nonperishables of any type are welcome for this food drive.
SENATORS GAME –The youth of St. James invite everyone to attend a congregational outing to a Harrisburg Senators game! The game will be on July 21st at 1:00 p.m. Carpool is available from the church following the service! Cost is $20. With that you get seats right by the field, a $10 meal voucher, and a senators hat! It’s quite the deal and it’s going to be a great time! Come and bring your friends and family!”
HOLY GROUNDS NEWS –Hello St. James Friends – Having a daughter who is an Environmental Studies major has caused me to regularly reflect on whether or not each of my actions are helping or hurting our environment. We can all help to protect our environment by using a mug rather than a Styrofoam cup in our new Holy Grounds Coffee space. Pretty please just take a minute to wash the mug and put it back on the rack when you are finished with it. Soap and a brush are provided. You can even bring in your own mug and keep it on the cup rack if you would like to!
MEMBERSHIP –If you are interested in becoming a member of the St. James congregation, please contact Pastor Bill (717-385-0703 or email@example.com).
